Where centrifuges are used in edible oil refining
Depending on the refinery process and feedstock, centrifugal separation may be applied after conditioning or reaction stages to separate gums, soapstock, wash water or fine suspended material from the oil phase. The duty can involve liquid-liquid separation, liquid-solid clarification or three-phase separation.
Application-specific engineering
Cottonseed, sunflower, soybean, rice bran, palm, corn and other vegetable oils can differ in gums, free fatty acids, waxes, moisture and suspended solids. Ferro Oiltek therefore evaluates the actual crude oil, process route and required product quality before recommending a separator configuration.
