Plan vertical lifting and the discharge connection
Bucket elevators lift compatible bulk materials vertically using a continuous series of buckets. In an oilseed or meal-handling line, the elevator must be considered together with the feed conveyor, inlet chute, head discharge and downstream equipment, rather than as an isolated machine.
Information for equipment selection
Send the lift height, normal and peak capacity, bulk density, particle size and material condition. Explain any restrictions on seed damage, dust release or carryover. Include the available footprint, maintenance access at the boot and head, supporting structure and the discharge elevation needed by the receiving equipment. Final bucket, belt or chain selection and protection devices require an engineering review.

Project questions
What information is needed for an elevator quotation?
Provide the material, capacity, vertical lift, inlet and outlet positions, operating hours and available installation drawing. Include moisture and temperature where they affect handling.
Can one elevator handle different materials?
That requires a review of each material and the changeover procedure. Differences in bulk density, flowability and product-cleanliness requirements can change the equipment selection.
