It is dedicated to creating, inventing, and evaluating new technologies for both products and processes in the cottonseed and edible oil industry. Collaboration with ICT Mumbai
A milestone in our R&D journey was our collaboration with the Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT), Matunga, Mumbai, a premier institute recognized globally for its contribution to chemical and process technology.
On 17th April 2023, the Department of Oils, Oleochemicals, and Surfactants Technology at ICT inaugurated a Multipurpose Oil-seeds Extraction and Vegetable Oils Refining Pilot Plant, supported by DST-FIST (Department of Science & Technology – Fund for Improvement of S&T Infrastructure). Ferro Oiltek played a pivotal role in designing and commissioning this state-of-the-art pilot plant, showcasing our engineering excellence and decades of expertise. The facility is designed as a multipurpose lab-scale edible oilseed processing, solvent extraction, and refining plant, enabling ICT to:
- Conduct advanced research on oilseeds and vegetable oils.
- Explore new extraction and refining techniques for edible oils, industrial-grade oils, and biodiesel.
- Enhance the efficiency, quality, and sustainability of oil processing.
This collaboration has strengthened the bridge between industry and academia, creating a platform where innovative ideas can be tested, validated, and scaled for industrial applications.
Dedicated R&D Laboratory
To support continuous innovation, Ferro Oiltek has also provided a dedicated R&D lab at ICT Mumbai, fully equipped for experiments, analysis, and process optimization. This facility empowers researchers and students to develop next-generation technologies in oils, oleochemicals, and surfactants, directly contributing to advancements in the edible oil industry.
